Colleges & Universities

The American College system comprises approximately 5300 universities and colleges in the United States and Canada, including a total of c. 1700 soccer teams. Every University offers a broad range of academic majors and minors. The decision for the right university should therefore not only comprise the athletic level of the school’s soccer team, but should also focus on the school’s academic level and academic offering. Besides the different study fields, the universities athletic departments are also split into three different associations.

  • NCAA Divison 1 – includes the largest universities (approximately 10’000 students and more)
  • NCAA Divison 2 – comprises mid-size universities ( approximately 2’000 -10’000 students)
  • NAIA – includes smaller universities (approximately 300 – 5’000)
