Soccer Scholarship Requirements

Apply On Time

The perfect time to apply for a soccer scholarship is around 12 months before starting at a US Institute. It is possible to find a spot in the very last month before preseason starts, but we recommend our clients start preparing early, as this will increase the chance of getting more offers and a higher scholarship.

Age

Most scholarships are given for 4-year undergraduate programs (a bachelor’s degree). Although, it is possible to transfer to a US college, finish an undergraduate program and also start and finish a graduate program. Ideally, you will start your undergraduate program right after finishing high school. This will give you the best chance to be eligible for all US colleges.

Soccer Background

Universities set high standards for selecting their international soccer players, and so does College Scouting. College Scouting’s highest priority is to give each and every player a realistic overview of his chance of receiving a scholarship in the USA and at what level he would be able to play in college. Every country has its own parameters.

Academic Background

As an upcoming student athlete, you will need to meet certain requirements regarding academics. Besides a higher education (Link für Länder), you will also need to take the TOEFL and SAT/ACT test. Those tests will help your chosen university to evaluate your academic level. These tests can be repeated multiple times. We recommend you study as hard as possible since a high score can also lead to an additional academic scholarship.
